🛫🛬🛫🛬🛫🛬

🤙🏿 Welcome back to the Better Than Points Newsletter - the premier place for all things Credit Card Points News and Travel
My name’s Luis and I’m the one writing this (hit me up here!)
Some stuff just dropped that’ll change the game.
Oh, and some good news if you have Delta SkyMiles.
So let’s get to it.

A Message from Me
There’s a travel card out there right now offering a 75,000 welcome bonus after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months and those points can be transferred 1:1 to Condor and Hyatt and the annual fee is only $95.
Here’s how far that can take you:
✅ Fly one-way to Frankfurt in Condor business class from the East Coast using just 63,000 points (via JetBlue transfer)
✅ Use the leftover points for a hotel stay in Frankfurt by transferring them to one of the best hotel programs in the game
✅ Enjoy built-in travel protections like trip delay insurance and rental car coverage when booking with the card
If you’ve been sitting on the sidelines, this is one of the easiest ways to level up your travel using points you didn’t have yesterday.

Travel News
Delta Award Flights Flash Sale (LINK)
It can be hard to find decent value with SkyMiles.
They’re usually called SkyPesos for a reason, you usually need a ton to book anything good.
But Delta’s running a flash sale ending today with roundtrips to Europe starting around 30,000 SkyMiles.
If you hold a Delta Gold, Platinum or Reserve card, you get an extra 15% off, dropping it to 25,500 miles roundtrip.
That’s a great use of SkyMiles given the usual pricing.
Heads up, at 30,000 miles you’re basically booking a Basic ticket.
If you want any flexibility, book Main Cabin, it’ll cost more miles, but you can cancel if plans change.
Since the sale ends today, I’d personally pay the extra miles for Main and keep the option to bail with no harm, no foul.
Check this link to see which routes are on sale. (Region has to be Europe)
Condor flights bookable with JetBlue (LINK)
JetBlue just announced you can earn and redeem TrueBlue points with Condor, and this is a sleeper win.
Condor serves 70+ destinations, with lots of service out of Frankfurt.
Before this, booking those routes with points was harder but now you can book it through JetBlue and use transferable points to make it happen.
Sweet spots I’m seeing right now:
54,000 TrueBlue points one-way in business from the East Coast → Frankfurt
99,900 TrueBlue points one-way in business from the West Coast → Frankfurt
Not sure how long these rates will last now that redemptions just got easier.
Major U.S. gateways to FRA include:
New York (JFK)
Miami
LAX
Seattle
Plus seasonal:
Boston
SFO
Las Vegas
Portland
Anchorage

Condor Routes
I’ll throw the best date finds in the Flight of the Week section (it’s juicy).
Transfer ratios:
Chase & Citi 1 → JetBlue 1
Amex 2.5→ JetBlue 2
Capital One 5 → JetBlue 3
If this fits your plans, I’d book sooner rather than later.
JetBlue award rates have a habit of creeping up after partnerships like this go live.
Personally, I’m pumped because this opens cleaner paths to spots like the Maldives, Seychelles, and Mauritius without having to route through Doha.
Being able to use JetBlue points to book Condor makes those kinds of trips a lot more doable.
Singapore KrisFlyer Award Devaluation (LINK)
A devaluation always sucks, but luckily this one isn’t huge.
It’s about a 5% increase starting November 1, 2025.
If you’ve been eyeing the KrisFlyer program, book before then.
Saver awards are going from 107,000 KrisFlyer miles to 112,500–117,500.
Advantage awards are going from 128,500 KrisFlyer miles to 148,000–154,000.
Yeah it stings, but it could be worse.
Also, another reminder to earn and burn.
Don’t hoard points because the more time you hold the more points will devalue.
KrisFlyer has been a sneaky good ways to get from the West Coast to Japan.
Still probably a solid option, just a little pricier than it used to be.

🤓 Hack
If you know you’ll be traveling in the first three months of next year, Southwest brought back the Companion Pass promo.
Book by today (August 28, 2025) and travel by November 15, 2025 to qualify.
Requirement: one roundtrip or two one ways.
You’ll earn Companion Pass January 6, 2026 → April 6, 2026.

Each week, I’ll share something cool I’ve discovered or tackle a question from the community. It’s my little corner to explore ideas, offer fresh perspectives, and hopefully spark your own curiosity.
I hate to keep beating the drum on this Condor + JetBlue news, but the more I dig, the better it looks.
Award space is wide open right now.
Not all partners are 1:1 (yeah, that stinks), but if you’ve had a trip in mind, this is the window.
I’m seeing tons of options to Europe.
And even those harder runs like the Maldives and Seychelles are popping up (which is rare).
This dropped this week, so not a lot of people know yet.
So book now, ask questions later.
Once the content hits, that space gets scooped.
If you can transfer to JetBlue and you’ve got points, I’d move sooner rather than later.
(Quick reminder: Chase/Citi → 1:1, Amex → 2.5:2, CapOne → 5:3.)
I’ve got to stay put for a bit, but if I didn’t, your boy would have already had something on the books.
Condor business isn’t #1, but it’s solid, and having your exact dates beats last minute stress every time.
If you had to live anywhere for a year (all expenses paid), would you pick a beach, a big city, or the mountains? |
